PDP Curriculum Statement at North Chadderton:
Work Hard: Ensure you engage, participate and most importantly, ask questions throughout your lessons! PDP is crucial to your independent, character education. The lessons are created to help you assist in your personal development throughout your time at North Chadderton.
Be Kind: Maintain our high standards! Show yourself, your peers and your teacher kindness when discussing difficult, but important, issues. Topics may challenge your opinions, and that’s okay to discuss. However, you must be mindful of other people’s feelings, particularly around sensitive topics.
Make a Difference: Throughout your time at North Chadderton, you will have lots of opportunities to engage in wider activities which could greatly benefit your community and personal growth. Ensure that you treat PDP with respect to ensure you are getting the most out of your lessons. Finally, if you have any questions or concerns, speak to your teacher or Miss Pinkney about them. We are here to help and listen!

Leaders have prioritised pupils’ and students’ character development through a well-planned personal development curriculum. For example, pupils and students learn about respect, consent and healthy relationships in an age-appropriate way. Students in the sixth form value the opportunity to explore democracy through working with the local youth parliament.
Here at North Chadderton we really value both our staff and students wellbeing. Please watch the video below for some top tips from our staff in order to protect and maintain healthy habits.

This year, we welcomed the fantastic band Absnt Mind into school who performed to Year 7, 8, 9 and 10. The band pride themselves on delivering a 'Mental Health, Body Image & Cyber Bullying Message', which enabled our students to reflect on the importance of mental health alongside a fantastic opportunity to watch and singalong to some songs! Notably, the band members have faced their own battles with mental health and body image, making them uniquely qualified to address these significant issues affecting our students.
