ENTERPRISE & MARKETING CURRICULUM INTENT
The aim of the Business curriculum at North Chadderton School is to develop enterprising and aspirational students with strong business acumen. The Business curriculum develops the students’ entrepreneurship and ability to identify business opportunities for future learning and employment.

WHY ENTERRPRISE & MARKETING?

Dragons’ Den is one of the most popular BBC TV series of modern times, with budding entrepreneurs gaining the opportunity to pitch their businesses to successful businesspeople for funding and back. Our Cambridge National Enterprise and Marketing course gives students the opportunity to partake in a real-life experience of Dragons’ Den!

This innovative vocational course is designed to take students through the exciting process of developing and pitching their very own business proposal. During this two-year course, students will learn about the key elements of creating a successful business proposal – from designing and developing a product to the market research and financial planning that supports a successful product idea.

Students will be supported by expert teachers in pitching their business proposal, learning about the communication and leadership skills required to convince investors to back their business idea. Students will also develop their ability to critical examine the elements of enterprise and marketing that enable business success.

This is a course that will develop students’ entrepreneurial skills in a real-life setting, whilst also allowing students to gain a thorough understanding of the wider world of enterprise and marketing.  The knowledge and skills developed through your study of this course will provide a strong basis for studying Business at Level 3 BTEC and could lead to careers in marketing and enterprise.
