| In Film Studies, we aim to develop critical and independent thinkers who can interpret the language of film and appreciate the wider contexts which affect them, to debate, to inspire creativity and to develop the technical skills to create imaginative and innovative film production work. |

So, get ready to embark on a cinematic expedition like no other. Our dedicated team of film teachers guide our students in an exploration of the visual arts. Examining the craft of storytelling, dissecting the techniques film directors use to create meaning, and analysing the impact of cinema on society. We're not just creating film fans; we're shaping future auteurs and critical thinkers. Examining some of the best films from global, Hollywood and British cinema. Our students will learn to decipher the hidden meanings behind each frame of film, decode the intricate plot twists and understand the time, and places in which the films we study were produced. With the opportunity to create their own extract of a film using the wide array of technology we have available, who knows? We might just uncover the next Spielberg, McQueen, Bigelow or Scorsese right here at North Chadderton. |
