Our Uniform

 

Year 7-11 

 

Unform Rules 

If a student arrives wearing incorrect uniform, action will be taken to rectify. The school will lend replacements but if a student refuses to wear the item(s), there will be a more serious sanction. 

 

North Chadderton has a pre-loved uniform shop 

 

Items  

A North Chadderton school embossed blazer

A white shirt with tie or a blue blouse

An optional navy jumper or cardigan (woolen)

Trousers – Black, grey or navy (not leggings and not tapered)

Skirts – Navy pleated or straight and must be unrolled.

Tights – Black or navy (40 denier plus)

Socks – Black or navy (no logo)

Footwear - Boots or Trainers must not be worn Trainers are only permitted for PE or performing arts lessons

Coats - Coats are not to be worn in the school building at any time

Jewellery – pupils may wear a watch and no other jewellery

Piercings - Ear/nose piercing should be done at the beginning of summer holidays. Plaster over new studs are not acceptable.

Nails - Nail varnish/gel nails/acrylic nails are not to be worn

Hair - Extremes of colour (unnatural) and styles are not acceptable. Number 0 and 1 length are not acceptable. Minimum length is a Number 2.

Hair accessories – a simple elastic bobble.

Belts – No large belt buckles Hats/caps/sunglasses must not be worn

False tan/fake eyelashes/excessive makeup must not be worn.

Navy football socks 

Sport trainers (Not Kicker pumps) 

Optional NC rain jacket or NC sweater jumper 

 

 

Year 12-13 

Business Dress: Monday to Thursday 

 

  • Suit consisting of a suit jacket and skirt, dress or tailored trousers.  
  • Suit jackets must be worn at all times.  
  • Skirts should be of a suitable length and must be appropriate for a business environment.  
  • A shirt, blouse or top of any colour may be worn and must be appropriate for a business environment. Suit shirts must be worn with ties.  
  • Smart footwear. Trainers are not allowed.  

  

Photo ID must be worn visibly at all times while on college premises.  

 

Dress Down: Friday  

 

Own clothes may be worn on Fridays to reflect practice in many large businesses in our country and indeed, world-wide.  

The aim is to have a smart appearance that allows a degree of personal choice. However, your college is a workplace and a learning environment, and your appearance should reflect that.  

Shorts and short skirts are not permitted. Tops that expose the abdomen are unacceptable as are strapless, backless, see-through, or strappy vest tops.  

Photo ID must be worn visibly at all times while on college premises.  

  

In the event of extreme weather conditions, this dress code may be subject to change at the discretion of the Assistant Director and/or Headteacher.
