Dear parents, carers and year 6 students,
I hope that you and your families are continuing to keep safe and well. I wanted to give you an update on what has been happening in school behind the scenes with regard to transition and also to signpost you to some recent additions to the transition page on the school website. (https://www.northchaddertonschool.co.uk/Parents/Transition/)
Thank you to all parents who have completed the online information forms – this has enabled us to upload the key information regarding your child onto our school system ready for the new academic year. We have also been in contact with all our feeder primary schools. They have sent us some detailed information that we would usually collect when we visit the schools this term.
We hope that the information on the transition page on our website is helpful and addresses any questions or concerns that you may have. We have recently added some curriculum challenges for the year 6 students to try. Please tweet or email school with any efforts that you wish to share! In addition, we are uploading video clips each week of staff introducing themselves and their subject. We hope that you and the students enjoy watching these! There will also be information posted here about the KS3 pastoral team and an update from finance regarding the ParentPay system. If there are any other questions you would like us to answer, please get in touch with us by email and we will endeavour to respond as soon as possible.
We received some guidance regarding the purchase of uniform from our suppliers ZUTTI. Again, we have emailed this information to our new parents and sent it to the primary schools to distribute but there is a link on the website if you have not yet seen this. Please note that the tie for the new year 7 intake will be thin yellow stripes.
The KS3 team have been attempting to contact all parents over the last 3 weeks, to reassure and to answer any questions or queries. Staff have been using their own devices for this – hence it may have shown as a ‘withheld’ number. I hope that if you have not been able to speak to a member of the team you have been able to respond to their email. Your child’s form tutor for September will also be in touch before the end of this term to introduce themselves and hopefully settle any nerves that the students may have. Please encourage your son/daughter to complete the ‘all about me’ document and send it to their form teacher before they start in September.
As and when we receive further guidance around year 6-7 transition from the Government / Local Authority, we will be in touch with an update.
