| DANCE CURRICULUM INTENT |
| At North Chadderton School, the Performing Arts curriculum aims to engage, empower and inspire students to develop their creative potential. Our hierarchical curriculum enables students to build up their knowledge sequentially so that they are able to re-create professional repertoire and become creators of original thought-provoking work, through an in-depth understanding of how the arts have evolved. Students will be exposed to a wide variety of challenging texts, genres and composers to enable them to establish their own preferred style, which they will explore in depth. This intends to support students' ability to create original work which encompasses the fundamental, devising, chorographical and composing techniques which will enable them to create performances to a very high standard. |

Do you have a passion for dancing, watching and performing routines from various styles. Are you interested in learning how dances are created and putting that into practice to choregraph your worn original work?
Dance... an exciting, challenging and rewarding subject, offering an array of opportunities for you to experience the vibrant world of performing arts with a focus on Dance. You will develop your skills as a performer and choreographer, investigate a range of professional dance works, learn professional repertoire from a variety of different dance styles and choreographers whilst building essential life skills such as communication, independence, teamwork and confidence in a motivational and supportive environment. |
