RELIGIOUS STUDIES CURRICULUM INTENT
The Religious Studies curriculum at North Chadderton aims to enable our students to understand key beliefs and teachings of religious, non-religious traditions and worldviews which will allow our students to reflect on their own place in the world, their own beliefs and values.
WHY RELIGIOUS STUDIES?

A GCSE in Religious Studies is a highly valued qualification. Colleges, universities and employers recognise and value RS as an academically challenging subject which provides students with vital transferable skills and above all else a knowledge and understanding of topical issues of importance to all people across society. Religious Studies allows students to explore religions and beliefs to reflect on big questions such as is there are life after death?

Religious Studies allows students to consider how religion influences and impacts people’s lives and encourages them to discuss and be aware of differing viewpoints. Student are able to engage with world issues and consider responses intellectually and respond personally.
