North Chadderton Sixth Form

Welcome to the Sixth Form College

Our mission is to provide a high-quality Post-16 education with a focus on a range of A Level and Vocational subjects that offer a time-tested proven route to university, employment, and apprenticeships.

It is our aim to offer the students of Chadderton and the surrounding area an unrivalled level of pastoral care so they can flourish, succeed and benefit from today’s global employment market.

The North Chadderton Personal Development and Enrichment Programme is also offered to broaden students’ development. We offer students the opportunity to study the Extended Project Qualification, which enables students to gain an additional half A Level by completing an independent research project.

The Sixth Form College has its own Senior Student Team and Prefect Team who act as ambassadors for the school and Sixth Form College, leading on a range of initiatives including fundraising, arts and cultures at North Chadderton, events planning, duties alongside staff, and raising awareness of important issues, such as mental health. All students take part in the North Chadderton Enrichment Programme to develop wider skills such as leadership, resilience, communication and organisation. We offer students the opportunity to work with younger pupils on supported-reading, Physical Education and other individual skill areas, both within our school and our wider trust. Students regularly reflect on their wider skills development as part of the Personal Development Programme too and take part in a variety of other extra-curricular activities such as Young Enterprise and the Duke of Edinburgh Award. This excellent experience is valued by both Higher Education establishments and employers.

At North Chadderton Sixth Form College we have considerable experience in helping students achieve their potential to prepare them for success beyond the Sixth Form College. In 2023 30% of students achieved 3 A Levels or equivalent at A*-B and 20% of students achieved grades at A*, A, Distinction * and Distinction. Vocational courses achieved a 100% pass rate with 97% of grades awarded at Distinction * - Merit. This strong academic achievement together with our dedicated pastoral support, enables students to move successfully into their chosen post-18 pathway. In 2023, students have accepted places at a variety of Universities to study a wide range of courses including Law, Optometry and Economics. In addition, a significant number of students have progressed to higher level apprenticeships at local, national and international firms including Ultimate Products, Volkswagen and BAE.

We are proud of our students’ impressive record of success when they leave North Chadderton.  Many students progress to further or higher education.  We have a great record of students achieving places at the most prestigious Russell Group Universities. Some students go directly into training or employment, covering a wide range of occupations.  We also have excellent links to support students with Apprenticeship programmes.

The support I get offered is great and I feel really valued
