GCSE Results - Summer 2023
We are thrilled to announce that our Year 11 students and the staff at North Chadderton are celebrating a wonderful set of results from this summer’s GCSE exams. Our Year 11 students have done themselves, the community, and our school immensely proud. Despite all the obstacles they have faced over the last 5 years, they have remained resilient, determined and committed to their studies, and this has paid off in the results they have received.
We are pleased to share that, despite increasing grade boundaries, academic attainment remains high this year. 78% of students achieved a pass (grade 4-9) in English and 74% in Mathematics with 69% of students achieving a grade 4 or above both in English and Mathematics.
Special mention must go to the following students:
Mumina Begun achieving grades 9, 9, 9, 8, 8, 8, 8, 5, D*, A
Samuel Gidley achieving grades 8, 8, 8, 8, 7, 7, 7, 7, 6
Molly Howard achieving grades 9, 8, 8, 8, 8, 8, 7, 7, 7, C

It is testimony to the support and excellent teaching at North Chadderton that so many of our Year 11 students have chosen to stay with us and will be joining our Sixth Form in September, to embark upon A Level and BTEC courses.
A huge congratulations to all of our students on their exam performance and we wish them continued success in their next steps as they move onto apprenticeships, training, employment or Sixth Form. We are extremely proud of what you have all achieved.

A-LEVEL and BTEC Results - Summer 2023
We are delighted to announce that our Year 13 students will be leaving North Chadderton School with a great set of A-Level and BTEC results this summer. The students have worked incredibly hard, alongside their teachers, in preparing for their examinations and we are extremely proud of what they have achieved. Despite this year’s students having to contend with cancelled GCSEs, pandemic lockdowns and missed learning time, they have been resilient and determined throughout their studies. We are certain that our students will use their success to continue their journey into adulthood, whether that path takes them to university, an apprenticeship or employment.
We are pleased that our 2023 outcomes are in line with our results from 2019, which was the last time formal examinations were held without adjustments and grade inflations. Despite the government stating they were going to halve top grades, this year, we are thrilled that 21% of grades were awarded A*, A, Distinction*, Distinction. We are also happy to report that 96% of all A level grades were awarded A*-E. This year BTEC courses recorded a pass rate of 100%, with 96% of grades awarded a Distinction*, Distinction or Merit.
As always, we are very proud of all our students and their results have enabled them to secure places at universities across the country including Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool, Huddersfield, just to name a few! They will be studying a wide variety of courses from Business Management, Nursing and Musical Theatre to Economics, Optometry, Law and Forensic Science. Several students have also secured apprenticeships with local firms including Ultimate Products, Volkswagen and BAE Systems.

The results are a culmination of five years' worth of determination, commitment and hard work from our young people ably supported by our teachers who have worked relentlessly to give them the greatest chance of success. We are especially proud of the achievements of this year group, given the significant disruption to their education over rate last few years.
